The owners of this Service have created this Privacy Statement (Policy) in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to help our users better understand what information we collect about them and what may happen to that information.
A Special Note About Children Children are not eligible to use our services, and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor, you can use this service only in conjunction with your parents or guardians.
Information Collection When you register with MindMyPet, you are required to provide contact information (such as email address), unique identifiers (such as username and password), your name, what pets do you have in your household and what pets you can mind; and information about your location. You may also tell us something about yourself and your pet(s).
Public Information Public information submitted by you (such as location, photo, etc.) is displayed in your profile and can to be viewed by the public. We monitor submissions and reserve the right to monitor private areas if we suspect violation of the Terms of Use. We reserve the right to remove, edit, delete or refuse any submission to the site without notice.
Private Information Private information (such as email address, name, IP address) is not displayed on the public areas of the site and is not available to other members. Email addresses are used to send account information to members.
Information Automatically Collected MindMyPet automatically receives and records information from your browser including your IP address, browser type and cookie information. Your IP address is a series of numbers which identify your computer. We use it to help maintain our site. It does not provide personally revealing information about you.
Information Stored On Our Severs Please note that your personally identifiable information is stored on servers in the United States, where we are hosted. The laws on holding personal data in the Unites States may differ from the laws in the European Union and United Kingdom (and Dependencies) but as we explain below, we will hold and transmit your information in a safe, confidential and secure environment.
Our Disclosure of Your Information As a matter of policy, we do not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party.
Accessing, Reviewing and Changing Your Profile Following registration, you can review and change the information you submitted during registration by using the Edit Profile link on your left navigation bar. You may change your registration information (such as: name, city, county, password etc.); and save search criteria. You may cancel your membership at any time by using the Cancel Membership link on your profile page.
Control of Your Password You are responsible for all actions taken with your login information and password. Therefore we do not recommend that you disclose your password or login information to any third parties. If you choose to share this information with third parties to provide you additional services, you are responsible for all actions taken with your login information and password and therefore should review each third party's privacy policy. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personally identifiable information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately change your password.
User Submissions MindMyPet does not do background checks and cannot be certain that information registered by users is actually true. Be aware that any personally identifiable information you choose to disclose on this site, in public on your profile or in private through email or private chat (IM) to other members, is done at your own risk and that it may be collected or used by others. Caution and good sense should always be used in disclosing your personal identity to others and in selecting the type of information that you post on the website or release to others. MindMyPet is not responsible for the use of any personal information that you may choose to disclose while on or off the website.
Cookies Cookies are small files stored by your browser in your computer while you visit our site. We use cookies to improve our site and make it easier to use. Cookies permit us to recognise users and avoid repetitive requests for the same information when you change pages on the site. MindMyPet use session cookies that are automatically deleted after each visit. Most browsers will accept cookies until you change browser settings to refuse them. MindMyPet uses StatCounter.com analytics which sets a cookie in the browsers of visitors to our site. This cookie is used only to determine first-time and returning visitors and to estimate unique visits to the site. No personal information is stored in the cookie. Visitors of our site can set their browser to refuse StatCounter analytics cookies at the following page.
Third Party Advertising We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you are on the website (though we currently do not do this). The companies use non-personally identifiable information about your visits to this and other websites to provide ads about goods and services of potential interest to you. MindMyPet does not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third-party ad servers.
Legal Requests We cooperate with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce laws, such as: animal protection, fraud and other rights. We can (and you authorise us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement and / or other government agencies as we, at our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud or other activity that is illegal or may expose us or you to legal liability.
